Pick a Mood
for the room

S 2005-R20B

Time to re-decorate that tired space of yours? Great. Go for it. There are many, many pretty things out there. Furniture, fabrics, accessories – there’s something to suit every style, and most of it looks good enough to buy on impulse!

Hold your horses – You can’t just go around picking up random items that tickle your fancy. Doing this could leave you with a room that’s cluttered, disjointed and, well, not exactly what you were after in the first place. Here’s a tip to help you out: start by deciding on a mood for the room. Once that’s set, it will be easier to decide on which items to buy, colours to use and the way it will all come together.

This infographic by Gate to Garage demonstrates 5 different moods in designer-finished spaces. Follow these palettes or use them as inspiration to create your own moods. Whatever you do – have fun with it!
